New layouts to share

Yes, it's been a while since I updated my blog.  I have been papercrafting all this time, just not finding the time to blog.  But I'm back today to share 2 8x8 layouts of my niece's cutey little daughter Keira.

First layout is from Keira's February photo shoot.

The second layout is from her May photo shoot.

This layout also also includes a picture with her parents, Kelly and Todd.  (sorry for the bad photography on my part)

Supplies for both:  Patterned paper, die cuts and felt bird are from Kaiser Craft.  Cardstock is Bazzill.  Buttons, flower gem are from my stash.  Glitter letters are Making Memories.  Punch is from Martha Stewart.

Summer Fun Crop

I've been away from my blog for a few weeks, again, because I have been busy planning a crop for our local scrapbook group.  I have one each January and July.
I have a few pictures to share from the event.  I wish I had taken more.

These 2 are shots of the croppers.

This is a shot of one of the vendors, ScrapbooksNSmiles.

This is the prize table.

We had a great time chatting, shopping, eating, and oh yeah, scrapbooking or card making.  We had a potluck so everyone brought something and all the food was so yummy!
Ten of of us participated in a card swap.  All the cards we beautiful.  We'll have to do this again next time.  Below is mine.  Very simple :)

I always make a little something for the vendors and I did remember to take a picture of them at home, but not at the crop with each of them.

These are a 4 inch canvas that I got at AC Moore, covered with vintage sheet music, and added trim around the edge.  The flowers are Prima, which I could only find in orange and green, so I used Maya Mist to spray the purple and red ones and added an spritz of a metallic. Then I add a little butterfly.

For Beth - Scraptaclar

TESC 118

Here is my card for the sketch at Taylored Expressions.

In my quest to use up my older papers, I pulled out this set from Crate Paper.  The purple paper, the patterned paper, the green circle and the wavy strip (which I colored with a copic marker) are from them.  The scalloped strips punched and embossed with a punch from EK Success.  They are cut from white Bazzill which I also colored with copic markers as I did for the flower from Prima too.  The stamped sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.

Today I have some more cards to share.  The first one is from a sketch from the Go To Sketches book.  Paper is Basic Grey, Nook & Pantry line, the flower and cupcake are felties.  The base is brown cardstock and the cupcake is on a scrap of white cardstock punch with the bubbles punch from EK Success.  The stamp is from Hero Arts.

Next one is just me fiddling around with some scraps and the bird cage stamp.  The papers are Cosmo Cricket, the brown swirl and circle frame are all one piece of a transparency.  The birdcage, bird and chain are from Hampton Art.  The button and waxy flax are CTMH.

This card is super simple - just a kraft card, some chipboard clouds and bird, and a stamp.

Last one today is very similar to a card I saw in the magazine Paper Crafts.  I really love the color combo of the papers and also it's another simple card.  The teal paper is SEI as is the white striped one.  The others I don't know as they were from my scrap pile.  The letters are Thickers in white vinyl.  And there are 2 silver brads.  We are going to a wedding later this summer and I might use it for that.  Not sure yet.

Well, that's all for today.  I hope to join in some upcoming card challenges and will post here soon.  Tomorrow is our big yard sale and we have everything ready.  Then it's back to work on Monday, (sigh).  It was so nice to be off this week with some random things to get done.  Today I just have some errands to run and if I have time, I might drop into my LSS to see what's new.

Card Sets

Today I have 2 card sets I made.  Very simple...the first one is Jillibean cardstock and embellishments from an etsy shop.  These would make great note cards or simple thank you.

The 2nd set is from a sketch and card I saw in the book Go To Sketches.  I really like this book, it has great sketches and a couple of cards for each sketch.  I had this piece of very busy patterned paper and I thought I would never be able to use it.  I also used journalling squares, flowers, black paper, a piece of rick rack, a felt leaf, and letter stickers.  The cards are different sizes because I used scraps that I had and basically whatever size they were, I used them as is.  I left 2 with no sentiment at this time.  I think the black makes the vivid colors really pop.

That's all for now.  Off to make breakfast for my daughter and then finish getting stuff together for a yard sale this Saturday.

New cards and a tag

I'm back today with some cards.  Up first is a card and tag I made like the one on the cover of the Paper Crafts Magazine.  I really liked the color combo and when looking thru my paper stash, I found I had the same blue/green patterned paper from Sassafrass.  For the card, I used a scrap of green paper, a Prima  flower and some Kaiser pearls.  The card is made from kraft cardstock.  The "swag" is the strip on the bottom of the Sassafrass paper.  The letters are Thickers - they are fabric.

For the tag, I used a scrap of blue paper, ribbon, and a punch from ek success.  The letters and pearls are the same.

Next up are 2 cards I made with journal papers from Fancy Pants.  On the first one I used a sheet from the On A Whimsy notebook.   I added some felt flowers from Darice, some pearls from Kaiser and letter stickers.  I outlined the paper with a white gel pen.  The card is made from kraft cardstock.  Love the look of the kraft cards now!

The 2nd card has a sheet from the Little Sprout notebook.  I added the ribbon, buttons and the same brown letter stickers.  Isn't that little giraffe so cute?!  And again the card is made from kraft paper.    These come together very quickly using the journalling papers.

The last card I have today is not on kraft cardstock!!!  Its a card with Cosmo Cricket papers from the Early Bird mini deck.  I added buttons and the little blue bird is a rub on.  The letters are from Pink Paislee.  The stitching lines are a rub on.  The flower stems are made of green rick rack.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards.  Tonight is my son's graduation!

It's been a while since I posted...

I've been away for some time, didn't realize it was almost 2 months since I last posted.  I have been busy with work and family stuff, but I have been squeezing in time to scrapbook and make cards.  I am off from work this week, it's the last week of school, so I just gone done photographing some recent items I've completed and I am going to be loaded them in.  My son is graduating from high school tomorrow night!  Last night my daughter's school had there awards ceremony and, we are so proud of her, she got 4 awards!  An math award, high honors and 2 President's Education awards, one for educational excellence and the other for educational achievement.  She was not expecting the last 2.  Today is her field day and an pool party at school, then she has a 1/2 day tomorrow and then that's it for this school year.

Now onto some layouts I've completed in the last few months.  (I have really fallen behind in my scrapbooking, though I don't take as many photos as I used to now that my kids are older).

Here is a layout with photos from last December when my daughter and I were making cookies.
Isn't the paper and felt embellishments really cute?

I then made a card with left over paper and a felt penguin.

Here's a layout also with December pictures of my husband's side of the family who we go out to eat with each December for the holidays, since some members travel over Christmas.  Paper and chipboard is Making Memories and letter stickers are Thickers.

This layout is from my daughter's winter concert at school.  She is in chorus.  It's hard to get good pictures in their auditorium from the seats.

The last layout I am going to share today is pictures of my daughter and some of her friends from after their school musical, Disney's Beauty and the Beast, jr.  The first page is a couple of picture and the title and the 2nd plan is has a pocket where I put in the flier and program and journaled.

I'll be back tomorrow with a bunch of cards I've completed to show you.

CPS 161

Here is the sketch for this week from CPS.

Here is my card.  All the papers, flowers, brads, rub-ons and lace are from Kaiser Craft from the Devonshire line.  I got it in my March Scarlet Lime kit and I really liked the colors.  The pin is from my stash and I inked the edges of the papers with Chestnut Roan chalk ink from Color Box.  I punched the edge of the tag with a Martha Stewart punch.

CPS 155

I've been busy...I also have a card today for the Card Positioning Systems sketch 155.

This card was made with my January Key Ingredients kit from Taylored Expressions, except for the cherries, For You stamp and ink.  The patterned paper if from Basis Grey's Nook and Pantry line.  The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo and the ink is black from CTMH.  I made the cherries from chipboard.  I colored them with copic markers e49 - dark bark and r27 - cadmium red.  I used a jelly roll pen to put the highlight on them and then covered the cherry part with glossy accents.  I put the white circle on foam squares.  I distressed the paper edges and used Tim Holtz's distress ink in tea dye.  The cherries are much shinier in person!

TESC Sketch 102

Here is my take on the Taylored Expressions Sketch 102.  I love this paper from Cosmo Cricket from the Early Bird 6x6 paper pad.  My Best Friend is a sticker from the same line, I place it on a piece of chipboard.  The off white card is from my stash and I used Tim Holtz's distress ink in tea dye.

(for some reason I cannot get the sketch picture from her blog to load here, sorry!)
